The application period for Soldier On members wishing to participate in the REGINA INTRO TO BOXING 14 OCT 2026 is now open.

AIM AND SCOPE OF EVENT:
Soldier On, in collaboration with Lonsdale Boxing Club in Regina, Saskatchewan will conduct a one day 60-minute introductory level boxing class on Wednesday, October 14th, 2026 from 1230-1330 hrs. This class will cover the fundamentals of boxing, including stance, footwork, punches, and basic defense. No prior experience needed, just bring your energy and get ready to learn.
This session is open to all abilities, with no prior experience required. While basic mobility, coordination, and endurance can be helpful, we welcome participants of all skill levels and can modify exercises as needed. Mentally, a willingness to learn, focus, and stay determined will help you get the most out of each session. Whether you're looking to build confidence, improve fitness, or just try something new, this program is designed to support and challenge you at your own pace.
This activity will bring together both serving and retired ill/injured CAF members, allowing participants to connect through peer support and encourage a healthy and active lifestyle. It will also provide an opportunity for Soldier On participants to learn basic boxing techniques through instruction and coaching.
The number of Soldier On participants is limited to 8.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
Any serving member or veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) from the Moose Jaw / Regina and surrounding area (100 km) who acquired a permanent physical or mental health illness or injury while enrolled as a member of the CAF; whether attributable or not to service.
Selected Serving members will require the approval of their Chain of Command to participate.
DRAFT SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
14 Oct 2026:
-1220 hrs: Arrive at Lonsdale Boxing Club + check in with Soldier On Staff;
-1330-1430 hrs: Conduct event; &
-1430 hrs: Clean up and Departure.

Mental & Physical Requirements
Applicants must be able to tolerate
1 hour of high paced activities. Due to the busy activity schedule, applicants must have a limited requirement for rest throughout the day.
